Had to beat Todd to it. I hope the team plays some smallball against Paxton tonight. Scoring won’t be easy.

Paxton always gives us trouble. Tonight will be interesting. I hope Maldonado is catching. He and Verlander seem to have a nice rapport.

I have no doubt Maldonado will be catching Verlander.

The sooner, the better. He has already reacquainted himself with the GIDP, the swing-and-miss, and staring at fastballs down the heart of the plate.
He's ready to go in other words

Has there been any word on when Correa will join the team? I heard on the radio this morning that he has been activated. No other info. But it might already be posted.

Trading up by getting Davis out of the line up and having Correa in. Even if he does look at some strikes that make us wonder.

This could all end up working out for us. Our top-3 players get some rest while we managed to hold on to our lead. Plus, we got a little pre-look at some of the Fresno guys before September.

Those Fresno players, if they need to be called upon in the postseason, are going to be able to contribute on a more meaningful level now that they have gotten some time in the bigs.

Sunday at the latest is what I read on espn.com Thank merciful Christ. You're not a sh*t stirrer, like others say...given the current moderator stepping down situation, a true SS would have said something with Muhammad.... Always got your back, BFAM...

So I was doing a little historical research today, and I came across a text from the 18th century which was brought to America by German immigrants. One chapter heading caught my attention: "How to Win Every Game". I thought, shit, next time the Astros go on a losing streak, this could really come in handy! The chapter is brief -- just a couple lines. The winning formula is as follows: "TO WIN EVERY GAME ONE ENGAGES IN.
Tie the heart of a bat with a red silken string to the right arm, and you will win every game at cards you play." Now they don't guarantee that this will work with baseball games, but baseball historians do know that part of the game's rules derive from a German/Prussian sport that was imported by these same immigrants and eventually got meshed together with the English game of 'rounders'. Crane may want to find a ready supplier of live bats (the animal I mean, not the wooden kind) in case recourse to this method becomes necessary. source text: www.sacred-texts.com/ame/pow/pow135.htm

Hinch needs to cram as much playing time into White and Stassi (maybe Fisher) before they inevitably get sent down.

It doesn’t sound German at all.

I'm a little disappointed that I haven't seen confirmation that Correa has been called back up from his rehab stint. Perhaps the report I heard this morning was just fake news.

I got sick of watching him look at fastballs down the middle and then strike out on pitches out of the zone. He had been having a disappointing season........in my opinion.....before going on the DL. Too many strikeouts in key situations.

As far as sending players back down, it’s already August 9th. September 1st is only 3 weeks away.
