On the plus side, as frustrating as that series was, we're still in a good place even if it doesn't feel like it.
1. Our pitching is still the tops in baseball by a wide margin.
2. As flukey as it was, Correa's check swing hit was progress for him. He could start going off at any second.
3. Springer and Altuve should be well rested when they get back, and we haven't had our whole offense together in a month and a half. Getting them all back with as well as White and Kemp have been playing should make a world of difference.
4. Gurriel finally broke out of his 0-for also.
5. There is still time to make some moves.
6. Competition going into the postseason will hopefully get them motivated down the stretch.
7. We've been streaky all year. So we're due for a good streak.

Altuve has had another rehab setback. If he's out another 2-4 weeks (or longer), do we make the playoffs?

The Astros are great at hiding the truth about injuries. This thing with Altuve is about to get as suspcicious azs Correa's "stiffness'.

Altuve has had another rehab setback. If he's out another 2-4 weeks (or longer), do we make the playoffs? What the hell happened now? They should just come clean about the extent of his injury. |

thanks. i missed seeing that. i don't think they know when Altuve is coming back or they are lying about it. The other day, the doctors "were pleased with his progress" and now this. Of all the injured players we have, he is the one that is needed back as soon as possible. We need the others,but, Altuve is the most important. |

The problem with Altuve's injury is that it leaves us in a spot where we really do not know where he is in the process. Altuve wants to play so he may tell himself that he feels ok even when he does not. If there is no real solid estimates on when he is coming back by the last week of the month we need to figure out how to get Starlin Castro from the Marlins. They wanted to give him away earlier and it may not take that much to get him. He is a long way from Altuve but he would give us another solid bat.

My guess is they didn't know how serious it was before they announced the doctors were pleased with his progress. Now, they know it is worse and are clamming up about it. I am afraid he may be out a long time and that could cost us a playoff spot unless a move is made to find a fill-in. One of Luhnow's prospects won't get the job done |
