Minor was throwing a 1 hitter through 6 with only 72 pitches thrown and he was taken out of the game. Oakland has now scored a run and has runners on second and third.

Maldonado may end up being a case of a veteran thankful to be on a good team finally so he's going to put up good numbers... Probably, but even if he can just maintain a 90 OPS+ or so he'd do better than we could have hoped offensively. |

There has been a lot of talk on the board of Stassi and Stubbs being the Astros’ catchers next season. Apparently JV... maybe others... were not happy with Stassi. We may be looking at Maldonado and Stubbs at catcher next season instead. |

Even with the slump during the 2nd half, Stassi has been too productive a hitter for a catcher, and has had an elite season framing-wise. I can't imagine he wouldn't get a chance next year. Maybe not though. It all comes down to "what have you done for me lately?" with a current team like ours.
