After the next 10 games for Oak (against us, Seattle and the Yanks), the Athletics have only one opponent bove .500 the rest of the way.
Tex- 3 games at home Balt- 3 games on the road TB- 3 games on the road Angels- 6 games (home and road) Minn- 3 games at home
Sea- 3 games on the road
After we play Oakland these 3 games we have a slightly harder trek.
Angels- 7 games (home and road) Minn- 3 games at home Bost- 3 games on the road Det- 3 games on the road Ariz- 3 games at home Sea- 3 games at home
However our last 7 games look to be a cake walk with Toronto 3 games and Baltimore 4 games (all on the road)
We need to take Oakland out this series and hope they faulter against the Mariners and Yanks to pad our lead. I'm not saying they would overtake us, but we may not want to get into a dog fight with that team down the stretch. I'd rather have the division put away going into that last 7 game road stand.

I do not mean to pick nits but the 3 games that Oakland has against Tampa Bay are against a team with the third best home record in the AL and a team that is only 3 games behind them for the best record since the all star break. They also are over 500 by a pretty good piece.

They’re a good team, play excellent defense, and have swept teams like NYY and the Sawx with ease at home. Plus, their selection of starting pitchers is comical once you get past Snell.

they kind of kicked our butts as well The Astros went 3-3 against them and gave away one of the games with errors at their park. I think they held their own against them.

You left out the series they have against the Yankees. and, Tampa Bay is no pushover...ask the Red Sox

It seems to me the Astros play better when they are under a little pressure, they seem to rise to the occasion.

Yeah, I missed it. But, I don't see how he considers Oakland to have an easier schedule......nothing easy about the Yankees, Rays, ane Mariners, even though Seattle is fading like I thought they would. The scheules look about even to me...we have three on the road at Fenway, three with Arizona and Seattle at home.

As I recall they beat us in their place when they had a losing record and we were hot. They have been playing better lately and having been whipping the Yanks and the Red Sox.

I have to be honest, somehow I overlooked the Rays having a winning record. Perhaps it's because they aren't making the playoff most likely anyhow, but wow 70-61.... who knew!
