As I said earlier AJ needs to address this DP situation. He has allowed this to be the norm all year long. Too many Runners being eliminated due to poor at-bats once someone is on base. Making scoring harder considering how many runners are eliminated.

Yep, that's two innings now the Astros have had two hits in the inning... which should lead to runs, but doesn't because of the DP's. Correa has to recognize that they are going to try to get him to hit into a grounder so he needs to make adjustments to avoid that.

After Jose's single, I predicted a DP from Correa. Killing an inning is what he does best. If AJ would consider starting runners, it would help. If Jose had been running, he may have scored on White's hit. I also would reallly like to hear Hinch's reasons for keeping Corrrea in the 4 spot.

The Astros hit into DP's in 13.1% of cases where it's a possibility, vs the league average of 10.7%.
That's 22.4% higher than the league average. Statistically significant over this many games.
Not every Astros hitter is a problem in this regard. Team leaders in AVOIDING the GIDP:
White 4.4% Marisnick 8.6% Reddick 9.3% Stassi 10.4%
Unfortunately, every other hitter is above the league average in GIDP tendency. Yuli and Springer being the most egregious offenders.

I still don't see what Luhnow and Hinch see in this offense day in and day out that produces DP's and has trouble scoring runs most nights. This offense will not win the Playoffs.

The 3 weak links in this lineup right now, Correa, Yuli and Reddick.
Those 3 need to start hitting.

If he keeps throwing Maldonado lollipops like the last one he will tear it up.

It’s always one or two guys that have to shoulder the load. Anyway, you look at it Springer and Correa haven't been on the same page more than a game or two the whole year. There is a serious regression from those two this year. You keep hoping they will start hitting and showing up but it's coming on September and still no consistent Offense from either one.

It’s been a long time since Springer hit a fly ball with good velocity. He’s got that Reddickitis.
He can’t keep passing the buck to Bregman.

this will most likely be JVs last inning as he already has 85 pitches heading into it. He needs to hold them and we need to score this guy some runs. Heaney should just about be used up so we should hit him next inning.

Calhoun has been tough lately. He was battling Marisnick for who could be the suckiest before the break but he has been doing real well lately.
