I still think there's a chance Giles could catch on somewhere and win a championship in his own right like Lidge did. That being said I can understand a closer going psycho due to the pressure. And as much as folks aren't going to understand this part, I would much rather have psycho-Giles be alive and talking shit about my baseball team than for him to do what Donnie Moore did and take his own life Lidge retained his dignity, and worked through his issues. I would be shocked if Giles came anywhere close to big league standard closer. I'll go with 90% chance he'll be a mop up guy for teams who aren't in pressure situations. I agree. I'll add that I hope he heeds counseling

I may have him pegged wrong, but he doesn’t seem like the type to seek counseling. If he eventually behaves in such a way that the league requires him to submit to counseling or be booted out of the league, he might.

Who Cares He is no longer an Astro and was never a fan favorite. I can't believe you guys are this obsessed with a Pitcher who would never even make it top 500 of Pitchers of Astros lore.

You understand that "lore" is a two edged term? Positive and negative. I'll venture we never see another Astros pitcher who punches himself in the face, and flips off the manager on the mound in the same season. Yep, that puts him in the annals of Astros Stupid Mofo "lore" in my book. Maybe #1. Then add the fact he publicly disses the team in a near slanderous manner....... yeah, I think this thread is worthy of the posts that have been included.

“I’m actually enjoying the game more than I did for my entire tenure in Houston. It’s kind of weird to say that because I won a World Series with that team. But it’s like, I just felt trapped there. I didn’t feel like myself there. Overall, I felt out of place.” Giles didn’t win shit. They won in spite of him. The balls on that guy. By saying "I won a world series in Houston" proves he is delusional. He had nothing to do with the World Series or any part of the playoffs. If anything, AJ not putting him in games was a plus in allowing us to win the World Series. This dumbasss contributed absolutely nothing. Getting rid of him for Osuna could help us repeat. Giles saying he won a World Series here is like the French saying they won WWII--although they did some absolutely incredible things at the Battle of Dunkirk. lol

You have to remember guys, he was allowed to pick up the used towels in the locker room after the players were gone. So he did help the team.

It was classy how Giles wore a t-shirt with profanity on it just to avoid camera shots during the celebration.
