Why do I keep seeing these stupid articles about Trout still being the MVP this year. The dude has limited RBIs and the Angels are dead. You can easily make an argument for either Betts or JD. I could even make an argument for Bregman, but Trout. WAR is the most overused stat there is today (and that stat figure is what made Trout who he is), but even in that he isn't leading the league. Pathetic millennials

He can do it all besides throw the baseball hard. He can hit for average and power, is patient at the plate, can run the bases well (actually faster than Altuve), can steal bases well, and plays good defense (really should play LF because of the arm). His praise is understandable. I don’t think he should win the MVP, but he should be in the conversation. |

Statistically Betts and Yelich deserve it, but it really is amazing Trout created 137 runs in 463 ABs

Trout is the best overall hitter in baseball this year if you believe in the value of OBP and SLG (while still maintaining an excellent AVG).
I don't think the team's performance should be a factor, personally, but I do think Betts is the best choice when you factor defense in.
