I just realized Osuna has the same jersey number as Lidge. That didn't work out well for us in the postseason... I'm worried about the traffic Osuna puts on the bases. I thought I saw his WHIP is just under 2 championship closers should be a point lower than that optimally Maybe it was just one really bad game

That was a great game saving catch by Marisnick last night.

Before the trade was made of Pressly, someone posted a link about possible trade targets for the Astros. The read up on Pressly was about his top rated spin rate...and I quickly knew that the guy Luhnow/Strom were going after.... I am wondering in the off season do the Astros go after Andrew Miller, to make the bullpen more ridiculous...or see if the Marlins will have a reasonable asking price for Andrew Conley....

Food for thought: Astros’ magic number for clinching the second spot against the Yankees is two.

From ThoughtCo
League Championship Series (ALCS and NLCS) The winners of the Division Series then advance to the best-of-seven American League and National League Championship Series. The team with the best record in each league will have home-field advantage.
In the event that a wild-card team has the better record than the other qualifying team that is a division champion, the division champion still gets the advantage and hosts Games 1, 2, 6, and 7.

I sit corrected. Oh well, it’s a moot point now after the doubleheader sweep.

That was a great game saving catch by Marisnick last night. I ended up watching a tape delay of the Baltimore broadcast of the double header. I have to say I like the Baltimore TV announcers. They were very complimentary of the Astros who played well in the game, especially: - Jake for the amazing grab - Straw for his first major league HR - JV for being simply awesome - White for some great plays at 1B At the end of the double header they wished the Astros a deep postseason run. If Blummer or Kalas ever get bored with their jobs, it sounded like the Baltimore guys could probably get hired by AT&T Sportsnet.

Gary Thorne is the gold standard by which announcers should be judged.
