Didn't they find a way to cut down on strikeouts last year? Maybe a refresher course is in order?

Astros are 2nd in MLB in strikeouts. It's the most worrisome thing about the start to this season. Last year the Astros struck out only 19.3% of the time. Through the first 8 games, the Stros are striking out over 29% of the time. |

Marisnick, Fisher, and Davis account for a huge proportion of those excessive strikeouts this year. Those guys are striking out in the 40%+ range

Don't blame Bregman or Altuve about the K's, though. They have actually cut down on their strikeouts compared to last year.

When you think about it they only have 6 hits in both games so far. No going to score many runs like that. Padres are thinking what a time to catch the Astros when they left their bats at home.
