We’ve gone through multiple 100-loss seasons where we gave chances to some lefty starter with a 5 o’clock shadow, a diminutive second baseman, a Rule V utility infielder, a waiver claim castoff SP with a slow rainbow curve, and a top ten draft pick from Connecticut.
The losses were steady, the fanfare was low, the owner changed, but we still were hooked. They got better.
Three years ago, a top draft pick from Puerto Rico entered the fold as well as a fiery son of a former major leaguer and helped lead the team to its first postseason in ten years and almost to the league championship series. The next year, a brash young Tiger from Albuquerque gave us what Matt Dominguez could not, a productive third baseman.
The wins only went up from there on out. A hurricane nearly derailed the gaining momentum they had, but they kept going and got more of us hooked. This rag-tag team did the unthinkable last year and upset the apple cart by beating America’s teams: the Red Sox, Yankees, and the Dodgers.
Think about how far we’ve come: we’re disappointed in our boys losing to the best team in twenty years.
That’s how great the Astros are, and their window to win again is wide open.
Congrats to the Show ‘Stros and the fans here who’ve stuck around through thick and thin. I’m looking forward to this offseason and to a healthier core of elite talent.
In Luhnow we trust.

I haven't posted on here in quite a while but I'm thinking the same thing. Obviously our season didn't end the way we wanted it to, but I can't stay truly disappointed for too long. We got to enjoy a 103 win team and another year of playoff baseball in Houston. We also proved that 2017 was no fluke.
I'm proud of the team overall. Already looking forward to the 2019 season.
