Not that it's a big deal (I just found it interesting), but Joe Smith is projected to surpass the 800 Games Pitched milestone this year. This would put him in the top-50 all-time and he's still only 35 years old. Hopefully he can do it while keeping his ERA closer to 3.00 than 4.00 this year and a FIP around 3.50..... So much for this! Smith's injury could be a blessing in disguise. By August 1, he may be getting into some minor league rehab games and we could see him at MMP by mid-August. By the time the postseason rolls around, he would be a fresh arm in the bullpen at a time when the other guys are tired and sore. Britton had a similar injury last year if I recall, and he held 'em scoreless the entire month of September.
