Bauer is a jerk. Some people should not be on social media. I can think of several less flattering ways to describe Trevor Bauer but your understatement has a certain charm and elegance. 👍
In fairness (although fairness in any matter pertaining to Bauer seems a bit odd) Nikki was being a troll by entering into the conversation and throwing barbs, then crying foul when she became the target of retaliation. If you can't take it, don't dish it. If you want everyone to treat you with respect, treat everyone with respect. This 'victim' became one because she put herself in the position to be victimized by her own bad behavior.

Agreed, but: A. Out of a random college-age fan and a professional millionaire athlete, who should take the high road? (Especially when one has a bunch of fans that he knows will get on her ass for him.) B. It sounds like he kept on her even after she was giving up. Plus, even if she did deserve it, is it really a good look for a player like that to be getting into those types of insult matches with random fans? |

And before she finally 'gave up', she was the aggressor, even though he was replying defensively. The time for HER to withdraw was before she drew blood (more than once). Nikki: “My new least favorite person in all of sports.” <----- (A shot but not aggressive).
Trevor: “Welcome to the fan club 😘” <----- Snarky but not aggressive in the slightest.
Nikki: “Unfortunately I don’t think a professional athlete that tweets like a 16 year girl on her period has a fan club,” <---- Seriously aggressive. A personal shot. Totally uncool.
Trevor: "Tell that to my 134 thousand followers" <--- defensive and in no way personal toward Nikki
Nikki: “Sucks those followers can’t help you get a ring #Htown,” <----- while not nearly as disgusting as her previous tweet, that's more aggression on her side while he had continued to 'take the high road'. If that set him of on a mission of retribution, it is what it is. That PLB definitely brought it upon herself. Don't misunderstand. Bauer is near the top of my list of unsportsmanlike and morally deficient players. But there were two PLBs in this equation. And I don't give a pass to someone just because they don't make millions. Plus, even if she did deserve it, is it really a good look for a player like that to be getting into those types of insult matches with random fans? It's a horrible look, and completely unnecessary. Fans will take shots because they basically have nothing to lose. A true professional just doesn't reply at all. Jackwads like Bauer can't figure that out. After watching that reckless POS plunk three Tigers in the span of three innings, my greatest desire had been to see Bauer in the National League. Pitchers there have to take their turn in the batter's box. |

It's interesting that he hates us so much, yet we meet a lot of his criteria. If he was really interested in one-year deals, I'd be very curious to see what he could get. Would teams be interested in him for a really high AAV? Because, while he says he is interested in money, I find it hard to believe he would settle for less than $20+ a year (maybe even $25+). |
