Verlander, Altuve, Whitley all getting into the action today. This is basically 2/3 of a plausible regular season lineup. Interesting to see Gurriel at 3B and White at 1B. Sign of things to come in case Correa sees time on the DL this year? I'd like to see Robinson get more playing time. Let's see how much of a hitter he can be. His ability to shut down the running game would be huge in postseason games of the 2020s if he can prove himself as a big leaguer. Looks like we could see Ivey and/or Solomon pitching today too. They've generated some buzz over the past several months.

If the Mets would let JD Davis pitch an inning vs Astros, that would be awesome

Is Tebow at the Mets spring training facility? I sure would like to see him play.

Is Tebow at the Mets spring training facility? I sure would like to see him play. He is, and Myles Straw robbed him of a double in centerfield yesterday! Straw was real smooth about it after the game and sent Tebow an apology over Twitter for ruining his afternoon.

Diaz and Springer with the early TOOTBLANs.
At least, let them use ST to get it out of their system.
Good to see so many guys hitting though. The oppo stuff from traditionally pull guys is especially encouraging.

Tanny should be putting himself on some radars.
If he's blocked by Altuve and Bregman in Houston, he could be a trade piece.

Are you going to Hanoi to cheer for Lil' Kim Jong Uno Dos Tres when his train arrives? Ha ha no, I can't be bothered with it. Very interesting how, prior to his visit, the North Vietnamese are finally admitting that they brought North Korean troops to fight in the Vietnam War, which they denied for decades. Kim got pissed that they wouldn't acknowledge North Korea's "contribution" to their effort. Commies fighting each other, gotta love it.

I keep hearing that they are going to move Alvarez to 1st base because he takes such bad routes to the ball but he just keeps on playing left field. Beer on the other hand is playing first and it now seems official that he is only slightly faster than McCann.
Whitley must of been downright nasty today. Emanuel though, to say he is disappointing is an understatement.

Except for Emanuel, the Astros no-hit the Mets for 8 innings today.
The 9 walks were pretty ugly though.

These spring training Astros are hitting .318 so far and holding opponents to just .190.
Even Occasional Cortex should be able to see the Astros are far outplaying their opponents in these early games.
Spring training records don't tell us a whole lot about the upcoming season, but they do say something about the overall talent of an organization from the A+ to the MLB level.
The kind of dominance the spring Astros show on both sides of the ball portends a lot of winning through at least the mid-2020s.

One of the Marlins pitchers the Astros might face today is Brian Moran, brother of Colin Moran.
