Word is, we should see Cionel Perez make his first appearance of the spring some time in the coming week.
Team hasn't said much about what was holding him back but he has been pitching on the back fields a bit.
Right now the OD bullpen is looking like
Osuna Pressly Rondon Harris +3 TBA
Candidates for the three remaining spots:
Devo, Framber/Peacock, C Perez, Armenteros, Rodgers, James, Deetz, Guduan

It's slowly looking like the lineup on starting day is getting a chance to play together. The top 4 look like what I expect to see and the 5th will just be further down the lineup. The other 4 are unlikely to start opening day, though a couple may be on the bench.

More time wasted on this dud AJ Reed If he's going to be in the game, I'd prefer it be as a relief pitcher. He used to pitch in college, maybe he still has the touch. Ankiel was a guy who would flip-flop in his career between playing the field and pitching. It can be done.

More time wasted on this dud AJ Reed I think he is being showcased as a possible trade chip.

I guess there's no Astros Broadcast feed. It's one of the disadvantages of ST baseball. 3 hours of Mets, Mets, Mets.

1-0 after 1/2. That was about as little damage as we could do when hitting the ball well.

2 walks and 3 stolen bases has put Thor in quite a pickle

bullshit ball/strike calling in Brantley.
I mean it's ST so who cares, but in the regular season I would want an objective computer doing it.
The umps will still have their hands full calling safe/out, fair/foul, balks, interference, etc. It's not like they are going to lose their jobs.

good grief, Thor gives up 5 walks and 3 stolen bases and yet the Astros only score one run (due to an error on the infield).

It has surprised me too. I guess they are taking the National stage seriously instead of being homers.

Verlander is just getting started if they give him 50 pitches. Synderguaard is already out.

Mets fans often complain about Kalas and Blummer, saying they don't know or share enough about the AStros' opponents. That they're too "Astros-centric".
I guess that criticism will become more common as more fans start tuning in through mlb.tv, which isn't really tied down to any particular geographical area.

Nice HR swing from Reed. Now if he could just do that 5 more times this spring so Luhnow can trade him for a pitcher.

I would think that one of either Guduan or Cionel Perez will make the OD roster as a lefty reliever.
It will be nice to see Cionel next week so we can start to compare the two guys. Overall, I was more impressed with Cionel last season, but Guduan looks to have improved over the past year so he def should still be in the running.

Guduan's high K rate has been impressive. If he gets the job over Cionel, that might be a key reason.
At AAA last year, he had 83 K's in only 55 innings. Blum would say that's "very impress".
