Excellent player (although a little overvalued, imo) is finally calling it quits. He probably should have retired 6-7 years ago, but nonetheless he had an amazing career.
With all of his playing time combined from here and Japan he ends up with the following totals:
4367 Hits 2078 Runs 708 Stolen Bases 235 HRs 1309 RBI .322 AVG
In just the MLB:
3089 Hits 1420 Runs 509 Stolen Bases 117 HR 780 RBI .311 AVG
The Hits and SB totals are good targets for Altuve. Although Altuve is on pace for far more HR and RBI.

I always have a soft spot for the proverbial little guys like Ichiro. I might shed a tear whenever Altuve calls it quits.

1st ballot HOF. (LOL, there you go with the "overrated" stuff again.) No, I said overvalued. He was a great player, but the year he won MVP, he wasn't arguably even in the top-3 players of the league if you look at actual production. Great baserunner and defender, but he was not nearly as productively offensively as he as given credit for. For example, his BEST offensive season was 2004. He hit .372 (amazing) but even with that he didn't get close to a .900 OPS for total production. His best offensive season would barely crack Altuve's top-5 and he's only had 8 seasons (7 full) so far...

Player A:
.299/.372/.423 (.794 OPS) 622 SB 1528 Runs 781 RBI 130 HR 2428 Hits 68.4 WAR
Ichiro:
.311/.355/.402 (.757 OPS) 509 SB 1420 Runs 780 RBI 117 HR 3089 Hits 59.4 WAR
One of these players is going to be a 1st ballot HoFer. The other didn't even get 5%. That's what I mean be overvalued. (P.S. Player A did that in over 2000 less plate appearances too.)
