I don't mind Stassi sucking in the batters box since he's our backup backstop. I do mind White doing it since he's supposed to be our DH and has no defensive value. Even Jake is earning his paycheck so far even though each season is a dice roll as to whether he'll do that

Why is that anyway. Are kids encouraged to move off the position if they want to win varsity scholarships?

Are kids encouraged to move off the position if they want to win varsity scholarships? You have to love to play the position, knowing that you are going to take a beating. Didn't the Stros waste a few high draft picks over the years for catching.

I seriously can't believe we swept this series Both teams came into the series hot, but the Stros stayed hotter. Now to keep it going, wasn't it in 17 they started a West Coast series and were either undefeated or lost one game. This season is looking more and more like 17.

Brantley has a damn pretty swing. It’s nice to see a 2-run single once in a while.

Also, we’ve seemlessly transitioned from Marwin to Aledmys.

One thing I’ve noticed about Cole that’s similar to McHugh is when he hangs that curveball, he gets hit really hard. They don’t seem to have much margin for error with that pitch.

A good observation Union, I will say this in Colin's case adding the slider to go with his 12-6 breaker he is giving the hitter a different look at the angle of the break between the two pitches. Cole is good at repeating his delivery with his arm slot and release, depending how the breaking pitch is working that particular day. The number of K's is a good indicator.

I bring the Stros bad luck. I turned it off when we were down. I had to work in the pasture most of the afternoon. Turned on my computer and boom. Astros win. Anyone else miss Milo?

Man, when he misses, it is usually right down the center of the zone. Haniger took full advantage. By the way, that guy loves low pitches. They should challenge him more up in the zone.

As they say some hitters hit well against certain pitchers on how they pick up the ball no matter what the pitcher's reputation is.
