Did you see the play Hedges made on Smith? That catcher is a ninja. I missed it. Will have to catch it on highlights. Just looking at the NL West... early on, the Padres are playing nearly .500 ball. If they are much below .500 at the ASB, maybe they would consider trading Craig Stammen to the Astros. He'd do much to fortify the bullpen down the stretch. And then Smith Canseco’ed a ball out of his glove to give Hedges a gift 2-run homer. He’s not having a good night but Hedges is winning. |

Hunter Renfroe came up on this board some weeks ago.
He's off to a frustrating start (batting avg in the .220's) but it's not awful by any means. Has 4 HRs in a little over 60 PAs, good for a .806 OPS. And that is with a measly BABIP of .225. When his BABIP luck normalizes, Renfroe is probably sitting at around an .850 OPS.
I don't see any holes in the Astros lineup so big as to justify trading for Renfroe, but it looks like the Padres are underusing him so he probably would be available if another team really desired him.
My guess is that Renfroe would probably hit more of his fly balls out of the park at MMP than he currently does at SD.

Reddick should be starting every game right now until he cools off. White as well. Bregman, Altuve, and Springer are getting a lot of credit for yesterday, but those two guys putting up hard ABs and getting no base ahead of them was the difference maker yesterday.

Reddick should be starting against LHP right now. Even though Marisnick's splits are better If Hinch must start Marisnick against LHP, he should put Brantley at DH, White at 1B, and have Gurriel come off the bench. |

I agree, but at the same time they're excelling lately where they are (White and Reddick) so I hate to move them around while they're hot. |
