I wonder if he will pull a Nolan, and not go into the HOF as an Astro.

The tale of the pitcher that has two side: Can go on dominant stretches of pitching or can get shelled for multiple starts in a row. Good for him though.

And we let a former Cy Young winner go too. Fire Luhnow.

I think what Keuchel sees is something that is painfully obvious to even a casual observer that is McHugh and Peacock belong in the bullpen. If they are moved there then our bullpen becomes very strong and deep. But if we do that then we only have 3 starters so the inexpensive way to resolve this is to sign Keuchel on a two year deal with an option and bring up Martin and use him as an opener and have him go 3 innings. Follow him up with James and Peacock/McHugh and now it is the 7th inning and you are all set. No prospects lost, the innings are effectively covered and the kids get some more experience at the big league level. Later this year when they are done jacking with Whitley's pitch selection/mechanics (whatever it is that they are working on), then add him in to a tandem deal with Martin.
I am glad by the way that Fiers had some success. Unfortunately he suffers from the same malady as Martes, operator headspace.

Saw where Fiers is the 35th player in MLB history with multiple no-nos .
Looking at that list it looks about 50/50 of those who truly dominant. Ryan , Koufax, Feller, Spahn , Johnson as examples OTOH, the other half of the list is littered with lucky random bastards like Fiers.

Every day that passes adds another milimeter of rust on Kuechel's already suspect arm.

Keuchel needs a tattoo of a lion on his arm along with the word “Keuchel”.

I am glad we are rid of Fiers and his pouting. He threw a no-hitter for us too and then sucked.

And to think this is the same pitcher his manager didn't dare start in a wildcard game, opting for a smorgasbord of bullpen pitchers instead
