Looks like JD Davis and Fisher will make the team.

think about what the talent level will be in Fresno. Armenteros, Martes, Paulino, Guduan, Thorton, chunking it up there and Kemp, White, Reed, Kemmer, and Stubbs, hitting it out. Add back in the guy who gets sent down when Guirrel comes back and you have more talent on that team that the Astros had in the bigs back in 13.

What did they determine about Fisher's apparent injury today? I thought they may keep Kemp but not surprise White was sent down. I like what I saw from Davis.

He went into second base and apparently did something to his leg, knee, or something. Hinch came out and took him out of the game as a precaution

I was watching the game on and off today, on a pickoff attempt Fisher slide back into second base was late and it looked like he jammed his ankle. It didn't look good.

Crap. Staying healthy is key to wining and going deep. Outside Correa's injury last year, we were actually pretty lucky.

Fisher looked like he could have (and wanted to...) stay in the game, but they didn't take any chances with him.

Red Sox announcers said Hinch probably pulled him as a precaution. He did get a couple of hits

Yes, and Guduan actually started look, uh, kind of gud in his last few appearances. He has the velocity; if he can just control the ball, he could come up and replace Sipp later in the season if needed.

It looked like Fisher's injury was pretty insignificant, but I guess there's a chance he starts the season on the DL, which probably means Kemp is up.
Also we'll see if McHugh gets traded before the season starts. So many other teams' starting pitchers going on the DL this spring, there is demand for Collin and he may be asking for a trade anyway.

I saw that Sipp pitched a good game yesterday....I believe he went one inning, walked one and struck out 3. Good for Sipp, bad for Astros...don't keep him.....If they do, I hope me always bashing him, allows a little crow to come my way, when he actually has a great year - regular and postseason. My worries then would be the Astros offering him another 3 year deal....

In my opinion there would be very little danger in trading McHugh. Armenteros is ready and he should be the first guy called up ahead of Martes if there are innings available.

IMO Guduan problem is his mechanics, being a tall guy of arms and legs is a problem to repeat his delivery. Having a good heater and at times trying to over throw. I am sure these are things Strom has gone over with him.

All-Stars generally hold the enemy scoreless in 80 to 90% of their appearances. So, he's really not far off the mark.

I did some number crunching on the Astros spring hitting results and was surprised to see that Kemp has really had a much better spring than it first appeared. He put up an Expected Batting Average of .281, which is just to say that if normal rules of chance had applied, that would have been his batting average. In reality he put up only a .203 average through March 24.
Tyler White suffered the same type of bad luck, but to a lesser extent. His xAVG was .264, but his real average was only .209 as of 3/24. So long as those two players keep making solid contact, they will do fine. Bad luck won't follow them forever.

Good, Kemp is a waste of roster space given our current team.
