My picks:
Round 1. Carter Stewart RHP HS Florida
6'6 200lbs
Fastball: 65 | Curveball: 65 | Changeup: 50 |Control: 50 | Overall: 55
Stewart jumped on the radar with a strong summer showcase circuit showing at a number of events. When he came out this spring even better, and with more velocity, he made a huge leap to near the top of many Draft boards.
With a projectable 6-foot-6 frame, there was always the thought that there might be more in Stewart's tank in the future. Evidently, the future is now. He has been as lights out as any prep arm in the country, coming out of the gate throwing up to 98 mph. The right-hander touches 96-97 mph in just about every start and easily sits at 92-94 mph. He has one of the best breaking balls in the class, a power curve that is now a mid-80s hammer. While Stewart's changeup is behind right now -- and he occasionally slows his arm down -- he has feel for it and it should be a solid pitch in the future.
While some evaluators have expressed mild concern with Stewart's deep arm action in the back, the young hurler has shown he can fill up the strike zone with two plus pitches. The Mississippi State commit has moved into the top of the first-round conversation, with some thinking he would be a candidate to go No. 1 overall if it weren't for the fact a high school right-hander has never been taken with the top pick.
Round 2. Chase Strumpf 2B UCLA
6'1 200lbs
Strumpf's hit tool that stands out. He can flat out rake with excellent strike zone discipline, showing the ability to barrel up the baseball consistently. While he doesn't have huge raw power, there's some definite thump from the right side of the plate and he can punish mistakes. While he was a shortstop in high school, he doesn't have the arm or speed to play there, but he should be a reliable defender at second base.
It's the bat, though, that will get him drafted in the early rounds of the 2019 Draft. He profiles as an offensive-minded second baseman with some power, kind of like a right-handed version of Bruin product Kevin Kramer, who made his big league debut with the Pirates in 2018.
Round 3. Jaxx Goshans C Kansas
6'0 210lbs
This guys is probubly one of the best hitting Catchers in the draft.his def may need more but his frame rate is well above average.
Round 4. Zach Zumbia LHP\1B\DH Texas
6'4 240lbs
Look up this kid on youtube. Check out his story its pretty good.
Round 5. John Doxakis LHP Texas A&M
6'4 210lbs
Dudes got heat
Round 6. Brandon Martorano C UNC
6'2 175lbs
Great bat decent Glove stron arm
I think this would be a heck of a way to go in this years draft.
We need Catching depth bad and if we can get those two guys it would do wonders.
Stewart and Strumpf would be a heck of a 1st and 2nd round addition to this organization
