Martin vs. Lester
On paper this is another tough game for us. Lester is having a good year (although not recently) and Martin has gotten a little shakier with each start. It's Stubbs' MLB debut and we'll need him and our misfits to come through again.

I'd be very happy to see Martin finish the season with an ERA of 4.50. I think he can do it, although if he keeps pitching like he has been, it could be in the 5's somewhere. He seems to have the basic elements required for success.
I watched part of Lester's last start. He's hittable... and the current Astros lineup seems to produce unlikely heroes.
Chirinos is only on a one-year deal, so it's really nice to have a chance to evaluate Stubbs at the big league level. I liked what we saw from him in spring training so let's see if it carries over into the regular season.

Correa out of the lineup again? Hmm. That's concerning... Having him getting more "mental" rest and using Bregman as DH gives us a weaker infield. Resting guys is fine but leaving yourself with a weak defense isn't smart. |
