If we had effective middle relievers, that’d be easier. But, we do have solid middle relievers. Harris and...

Stubbs definitely has a ML glove. I wonder if any team wants to trade for Stassi. If they did, I could see Chirinos/Stubbs holding down the fort pretty well.

Hendricks threw a complete-game shutout against the Cardinals this year... on 81 pitches. Better take some patient AB's against him tomorrow.

y'all seriously want to pay Keuchel for a partial season the amount he rejected last winter for a full season?
Eff that on principle alone We're joking...at least I was. I hope I never hear about Keuchel again..........Piss on him.

Great debut by Stubbs......... I hope this means we have seem the last of Stassi. Another typical game for fat ass. surely his days on our roster are numbered.
The boys fron RR are giving a good account of themselves. Getting big hits from several players was big tonight.
I got the idea on the pre-game show that Hinch is a little irked with the Correa "issue"......strange that he had an off day yesterday and nothing was wrong with him. but, today he has a "rib issue" Must have had a very active night after the game. More encouraging on Jose than I thought.
Always love beating the Scrubs.

I was surprised Stubbs didn’t make the team out of spring training.
7 1/2 game lead this morning.

I've read that STassi is actually very objective, good-natured, and even selfless in many ways regarding his status on the team. That he knows he will be replaced soon, but still takes time to assist and mentor his eventual replacement(s). That he knows he probably won't spend another 5 years with the team or anything like that. I don't think he imagines he is some kind of slugger that he isn't. What he is, and what I have valued about him, is a competent backup receiver who gets the team through regular season games and gives needed rest to the primary catcher. In this case it's Chirinos but who knows, next year it might be Stubbs. The backup C would not usually need to play in the postseason, so it doesn't concern me that Stassi is less than elite. It does concern me somewhat that Chirinos is not among the game's better defensive catchers. I would like to think the Astros will have one to take to the ALDS and beyond.

The 'opener' thing is is starting to gain traction in the AL West outside of Houston.
Yesterday the Angels started Cam Bedrosian for an inning before going to Nick Tropeano (the 'real' SP) .
Now, the Rangers are saying they'll put in Jose Leclerc for the first inning before going to their main pitcher of the evening.
The opener idea looked like it might have helped Dallas last year. But beyond Martin, I can't think of any Astros starters who might easily go along with that way of deploying pitchers.

NYY looks like they are in somewhat of a hurry with Paxton. He's not yet fully recovered and they are putting him back out on the mound without any rehab games in the minors.

f***! what is this guy doing off the field???
there were rumors going around yesterday that Correa had done something stupid at home to cause this. but, nothing confirmed yet.
"Astros star Carlos Correa has been diagnosed with a fractured rib, Mark Berman of FOX 26 reported (via Twitter) and the team has since announced. He’s expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks and will obviously be headed for a stint on the injured list."

Myles Straw called up.
Are we up to 2/3 Round Rock Express players on the starting lineup yet?

headline should read: Daniella fractures Correa's ribs and he is out 4-6 weeks I may be out of line but Carlos is NOT putting his job and the team at the head of his priority list.
Good to know Straw is coming.
