I did give up on White. I just wanted to make sure we gave him a full chance based on his performance the last two years. We did. His chance is over. That being said, I think if he can get himself in better playing shape he could bounce back with somebody. We just don't need to keep waiting for that. Thats the problem I have. Who let him feel that it was okay to get so out of shape? Complacency happens for a reason, and it could be a direct effect of a team’s culture. It is great that the players like playing for Hinch, but, there are times he needs to crack down and take charge. White should have been given a certain amount of time to get in shape and produce or ge gone. He is doing what he is allowed to do. He is a lazy, fat slob who needs to go.

I can’t disagree with that. Some might say, well David Ortiz and Tony Gwynn we’re big boys. Well, I’m sure if White could hit .340 or hit 40 bombs, he would be treated with far more respect.

Gwynn didn't start off chubby. And even chubby, he was stealing double digit stolen bases in his mid-30's.

You seldom saw him called out on strikes or swing at pitches out of the zone.

Gwynn was the best pure hitter I’ve ever seen. He basically hit the ball wherever he wanted.
