It's strange to me that a guy with zero health issues, who averaged 23 HRs a year and a 111 OPS+, with at least a little experience at three different positions including catcher, caused no clubhouse problems at all, and would likely take virtually any deal, couldn't find a spot on a rebuilding team.
He must have just wanted to be done. I never even heard of a team showing interest.
Oh, and he hit .300 in the World Series with an OBP over .500.

I always liked Gattis. We could have kept him for practically nothing. The more I see White hit pitches backwards and strike out, the more I miss Gattis. It’s funny to say, but I miss his double plays because I’m so tired of White whiffing so damn much (when he actually decides to NOT take strike 3). |

I wish just once reporter had the balls to ask Hinch why he keeps White in the linneup to see what BS answer he gives..........He would probably say because he needs Yuli at third base and Bregman at SS and White is our best option at first base. why not try Brantley at first base or work Alvarez there. Playing White is a joke. |
