Matthew Boyd had a forgettable game against the Royals: 6 hits, 3 walks, and 5 runs in 2.2 IP.

The task of trading for two starting pitchers who'd be under contract for next year seemed like an offseason project to me. Luhnow doing it at the trade deadline is what impresses me the most

I wonder if this season (if it continues to be very good) gets him more offers/looks. He's now 8-5 in 16 starts with a 3.35 ERA (138 ERA+). The problem is that he's still doing it with a high WHIP and FIP so it's hard to know what can be sustained. In an offseason where Cole will likely get $200+ million plus (deservedly so), what will teams offer a guy like Keuchel (as well as Miley)?

Harris seems to be the one model of consistency.

Unless they're willing to go into luxury tax heights.

I think Reddick and some bullpen are not coming back next year, some by trades and others by not offering arbitration, exercising options or re-signing...And possibly a Correa trade as well.

I want Correa traded and Devenski gone. I can live with Reddick but I think Tucker is ready to take over for him. We need to be freeing up money for Cole and Springer.

I don't want Correa gone, but I think the Astros need to trade him....I hope he comes back and kicks ass for the Astros all the way through the playoffs....and the Astros can trade high on him in the off-season....He is going to get more money in arbitration this year..and we have two years more of team control, before he is a pending a FA....and I think most of us agree here, he does not seem to be a lifer here..... I am about done with Devo....it is a shame, because he is relatively cheap, and one time was dominant....but every million counts, and he will be in the $3M range, so he can be replaced by a farm arm and the money can be used for Cole and Springer.. I like Reddick, but Tucker needs to take over in RF....the torch needs to be passed....Reddick is expensive; albeit, only one more year....I think another team would take on a good portion of his $13M 2020 contract, and if Luhnow can get a decent prospect for him, I would definitely be for it... I don't see Astros offering Marisnick arbitration...and I wonder about Diaz, his saving grace may be his versatility and decent power...Biagini and Sanchez will probably be reviewed in the off-season, with Sanchez's review being tougher considering he will be injured. Also, I don't see the Astros re-signing McHugh or Miley (they will just look for another one - diamond in the rough I am for 2020 having these players apart of the team: Tucker, Straw, Stubbs and Toro....and then take your pick for pitchers Whitley, Bielak, Javier, Abreu and McCullers

I forget which poster pointed out even the Yankees, in their dynasty run in the 2000s, would trade away veterans to free up payroll and get younger prospects. I think the Astros should do that in Correa. FTR- as I stated before, Correa will be greatly missed...he has elite talent/ceiling and a great teammate....hopefully he can be traded to the NL, so he can not inflict that much damage to the Astros...
Now the main question lies in - Who replaces Correa in the HEB commercials - Alvarez, too stiff?; Tucker, goofy, but not good goofy; Brantley, too shy and only controlled through 2020....could it be Toro?
