Someone explain to me how the NFL playoffs are structured. (1) Each conference get 6 seeds.... (2) Each division winner gets in, plus the 2 wild cards teams which are the best 2 records of non-divison winning teams. (3) Seed 1- Best record of a divison winner Seed. 2- 2nd best division winner. Note: Seeds (1) and (2) Get a bye week. Seed 3- 3rd best Divison winner Seed 4- 4th best Divsion winner Seed 5- Wild Card No. 1 - Best non-division record team Seed 6- Wild Card No. 2- 2nd Best non-divison record team During 1st week (divisional round - now) Seed 6 plays at Seed 3 Seed 5 plays at Seed 4 After completion of week 1- Seeds are redrawn based on 1-4, Bye Team Seed 1, plays worst record divison winner or WC at Seed 1 location Bye Team Seed 2- plays best recored division wnner or WC at Seed 2 location. After Week 2 two teams are left, with best record being home team (Conference Chamionship Game) Winner of this game plays the winner of the other Conference Championship Game in the Super Bowl. |
