Just a quick glance on espn.com, some of the on pace numbers these guys are on for now are impressive, especially given some of the missed time:
Altuve: 28 HR 70 RBI
Springer: 35 HR 90 RBI 96 Runs
Bregman: 38 HR 100 RBI 122 Runs
Gurriel: 30 HR 109 RBI
Yordan: 23 HR 69 RBI

It's a solid year for him, really. 12 HR 38 RBI 14 SB 53 Runs .764 OPS No where close to ever reaching Altuve's level though. |

In his first at bat, he killed the inning by hitting into a DP. The second at bat, he lunged at a pitch out of the zone and hit a weak ground ball to SS. Then, to top off his day, he bunted and kicked the ball to get himself out.  He produced in game one and then went into another of his braindead funks in game two. Great player but I stand by my statement that he is not the smartest pea in the dish. Unfortunately, he keeps proving me right. Bad game in the nightcap, but, still not as bad as the time he bunted with two out in the 9th when he represented the tying run. I love the guy...he's a great person and team leader, but he hs periods of being dumb. |
