You beat me to the punch, he is a free agent after 2020 unless he opts in to the arbitration process.

His fastball/change up routine has been figured out.

That would help...I still have not given on hope on him....FTR - I am also pulling for James and McHugh to be instrumental pieces in the Astros' playoff run.

I had given up on McHugh but he seemed to be dialed in last night. James I think will be key. I think he was finding himself right before his injury.

Devo, McHugh and James allhave something in common for me; I've seen them pitch before, and at times their stuff is just nasty. Harris and Rondon, when you watch them pitch, you don't get the same feeling, you're just happy that the other team did not make contact on a pitch that looked very hittable.

Could it be that Devo fell in love with the "circle of death". MLB hitter are not stupid, you don't go to the well too often. Two years ago when he was working on the curve/slider in his arsenal, he was more effective. Also have to look at the injury he was dealing with. Remember Neshek when he was with the Stros and he had the toe problem and was getting lit up. Moved on to the Phillies and healed and had a couple of good seasons.

Devo used to be able to get lefties out with his COD. Here’s his opp slash line vs. LHB this season .267 .346 .440
and here’s Will Harris's .221 .245 .253

If you are going to strut, you should be worth a damn which he isn't. Cost is important but he isn't earning minimum most of the time.

The best example was out in Oakland. He gave up the gamewinning homer to Chapman but then struck out the side.

Devo has "the stuff". But his command has not been the same since his health issues last year.

Man, there’s nothing like Devo strutting off the mound after giving up four runs.
