We have played in the most games (22) and second most road games (13, only behind Colorado's 14) and we are still 15-7 and 2nd best record in the AL. Good start to the season
Altuve (top 5 in BA) Correa (top 5 in RBIs) Reddick (top 5 in HRs) Oswalt, Clemens and Pettitte top 3 in ERA... whoops I mean Morton, Cole and Verlander

And that success is built on a very sustainable foundation of batted ball profile and pitching peripherals.
Astros hitters lead the league in line drives and in ground ball avoidance. They're among the best at avoiding swings and misses. The pitchers lead the league in K% and are nearly the stingiest in the league in terms of giving up walks. Pitching is tops in avoiding hard contact and inducing soft contact. Offense leads MLB in sacrifice flies (i.e. they score even without getting a hit) BABIP on both sides of the plate is at a sustainable level right around .300, i.e. "luck" has little to do with the Astros' current W-L record

When other teams see our our starting pitching lineup against their team do they wonder why they always get the raw deal of our best pitchers in the series.... and then go "Oh yeah because they have five"
Verlander, Keuchel, McCullers Keuchel, McCullers, Cole McCullers, Cole, Morton Cole, Morton, Verlander Morton, Verlander, Keuchel
4 out of 5 of those circumstances you are facing at least one cy young award winning pitcher. 2 out of 5 of those circumstances you are facing two cy young award winning pitchers. In the other you are facing the guy who shut down the Dodgers and Yankees in the playoffs (biggest stage in the game)
Then, if that isn't bad enough, you see our lineup card and one of our hottest hitters is in the 7th spot with our leading RBI guy from last year in the 8th. Our only weakness has been the 9th spot this year.

Morton, Cole and Verlander It's almost difficult to believe none of them were on the roster just 17 months ago. I complained nonstop about our starting pitching in those days and I hope we never have to revisit them again

We definitely have started out well and I think we end the year as the best team in baseball again. Better than even money bet in my opinion.
Having said that our competition so far this year is playing at a winning percentage of 381. Compare that to Boston whose opponents are playing to a 417. Both low, Houston's lower. Mainly due to our weak sister up north.

The good news is if Charlie wants to extend his career I'm pretty sure he'll do it with us. Every time Hinch relieved him of duty last season Charlie said, "Thank you" when he handed over the ball. It's such a warm feeling he was manning the fort when the 27th out was recorded in Game 7 of the World Series

God bless him.
