The last couple of off seasons have shown which way the market is going for long term free agents. This past off season only the Padres and Phillies bit on the fools gold. I kind of agree on an article some agent wrote, that most likely in the next player contract things will be changing. His observation is contract of shorter duration, and also being front loaded, to pay of player what he is doing now, not years down the road. There is no way the players would approve that, however. Frontloading means a player can have better years down the road but they are getting paid less, plus many get used to a lifestyle once the money comes in. I wouldn't be surprised if most players prefer backloading a contract because worst case scenario their production goes down and they are released (still getting paid) which also makes it tougher for the team to trade them. Lastly a player in his 30s coming off of a $15 million contract will look to still be worth that amount compared to the same player coming off of a $10 million contract. Psychology of worth plays a huge role later in years. I agree with you, the next labor contract is going to be interesting. Another look at last off season, quite a few players were taking the offer of extensions instead of playing out the string. The notion is players are not being paid in their prime years and the contracts back loaded are not getting the bang for your buck.

“He and hoochie coochie girl LIED about how he cracked his rib.“
Maybe I’m out of the loop, but how exactly did he crack his rib if it wasn’t the explanation he gave?

“He and hoochie coochie girl LIED about how he cracked his rib.“ Maybe I’m out of the loop, but how exactly did he crack his rib if it wasn’t the explanation he gave? There are a number of ways he could have cracked his rib but getting a massage from a licensed masseuse isn't one of them. A masseuse doesn't do anything to the ribs much less something that would crack one of them He was embarrassed to tell how he actually cracked the rib so he lied about it and he and hoochie mama decided to make a video to try to explain it.....all that did was prove he lied.

Just agree with him and move on, sir. I wasn't sure if there was an actual new reason or if he was just speculating. Thought maybe I had missed something.
