The fact that A-Rod is now seemingly fairly popular again after being public enemy #1 for a while is very strange to me.

Why do people not like A-Rod? Don't know the guy personally, so I'm ambivalent. I've talked to a few people who do know him and their reviews are generally unfavorable.

Cheating, excuses, bush league plays, ego, etc.
I don't hate him but I don't care for him either.

I don’t like A-Rod much as a person, but I did find it odd that the Yankees proclaimed themselves King of the World when they traded for him and then proceeded to shit on him his entire time there. Jeter could kick puppies to a standing ovation, but if Rodriguez booted a ball or struck out, he was a pariah. I do like him as an analyst, though. He really displays a decent amount of knowledge and insight and has at least a rudimentary grasp of high school level English, which is good for a former jock.

Why do people not like A-Rod? Because he's an arrogant jerk who used probably used steroids. I can't stand the asshole. The video bear posted illustrates why people despse the son of a bitch......If Correa is listening to him, that is another reason to trade him

On the advise of Alex Rodriguez, our little wimpy SS is changing agents.......ARod being involved reinforces my opinion that Correa and his "fiance" want to go to NY and he has no intentions of re-signing with the Astros. Trade him in the off season for pitching and an infielder. Don't waste time on this wimp.......concentrate on signng Cole and extending Springer. Don't want to keep beating the dead horse, but I for one thought that the post game Game 7 wedding proposal was contrived and hokey. He's been engaged what.... almost 2 years now? What's up with that? Shortage of Houston area wedding planners? I'll bet money that the wench is holding a NY / LA move over his head as a contingency to this relationship moving forward. Poor kid, but he won't be the first or last to lose his head over a POA. I'm with Coach on this one. This woman will be his undoing.

CC doesn't need her to want to do all the things he is doing. He was a highly touted prospect and has done well enough to want even more.
It's hard to say what any of us would do if we were 24, super rich, and married to models.

Trade him at the end of the season. Bregman can be our SS. Screw Correa and that damn wench.

why don't the Astros sign all their young, key players to 12 year contracts, and just balloon payment the last 3 years....12 years/$500M.... first 10 years - $5M a year, year 11 and year 12 $225M a year....

I'm thinking that Correa will not ultimately sign with Houston long-term. As good as he's been at times, the guy can't seem to stay healthy. Rotational forces are especially bad on back injuries, so maybe it will be a blessing in disguise if he moves on. I hope he doesn't, though.

The last couple of off seasons have shown which way the market is going for long term free agents. This past off season only the Padres and Phillies bit on the fools gold. I kind of agree on an article some agent wrote, that most likely in the next player contract things will be changing. His observation is contract of shorter duration, and also being front loaded, to pay of player what he is doing now, not years down the road.

Astros have played 142 games. Carlos “paper” Correa, has played in 72 of them.

Frontloading means a player can have better years down the road but they are getting paid less, plus many get used to a lifestyle once the money comes in. I wouldn't be surprised if most players prefer backloading a contract because worst case scenario their production goes down and they are released (still getting paid) which also makes it tougher for the team to trade them. Lastly a player in his 30s coming off of a $15 million contract will look to still be worth that amount compared to the same player coming off of a $10 million contract. Psychology of worth plays a huge role later in years.

Astros have played 142 games. Carlos “paper” Correa, has played in 72 of them. 1. We cannot depend on him being healthy. 2. His "issues" often arise while he is off the field and we never know how he gets them. 3. He and hoochie coochie girl LIED about how he cracked his rib. 4. It doesn't seem like he is in a hurry to work his way back. 5. Money is better spent on dependable players like Springer and pitchers like Cole. At least we know how George gets injured and he doesn't take six weeks off each time he gets an ache or pain. TRADE CORREA'S CANDY ASS before he can walk. Try to deal him to a weak NL team to piss him off. He doesn't want to stay in Houston so get rid of him.
