95-52 8.5 game lead in the West.
Bailey vs. Verlander
Let's hope JV can stop the bleeding, and our offense can get hot again. Rough day yesterday for 2-3-4. We need them to get going.
On the plus side, with this team being so streaky, having a bit of a cold streak now isn't necessarily a bad thing. Get them hot again going into the postseason.

Verlander just asks for 3 runs...one for him, a solo jack given up....he goes 7 ....and one for the Astros bullpen.

We better score more than 3 against Bailey. We would, but Verlander is pitching....he gets Roger Clemens' type of run support. .... or Dave Giusti 1968 type run support or Nolan Ryan 1987 type run support. Go to BR and look up the game logs for those guys for those years. I remember Giusti had an 11-13 record in 1968 and the team scored 2 or less runs in 11 of his starts....2 of which he got a W for.

Why do y'all think we'll score a lot of runs tonight? Our recent history against pitchers with high ERA is not promising.

Our current roster has pretty good numbers against Bailey in a small sample size, including 3 HRs in 24 ABs.

Hitting a solo shot is not as pressure-filled as bases loaded and 1 out.

On the plus side, law of averages would lead us to think JV is due for some killer run support finally.

Hinch, quit sitting Tucker on the bench! He will never learn and grow rising the pine.

By the time Pressly and Correa are able to play, the season may be over. I wonder what good they will be in the playoffs?

Word is that Norrea is going to RR tomorrow and will stay there as long as they have games to play. Then he will go to whatever other team we have that is still playing.

I'm sure they'll get more time against the scrubs coming up.

Reddick needs to sit and let Tucker play. Reddick either needs a few days off or he is done. An occasional hit (single) isn't going to do it

Well, we got two pitchers fighting for a CY, and a couple guys playing for other awards (MVP, SS, etc), and they're trying to get homefield advantage. They weren't going to bench the veterans.

That is true. I don't mind so much that Stubbs and Straw are not playing on a regular basis. However, if Tucker is the future of our OF then one could say he should be playing more often and not sitting two games in a row.

I’m a little surprised that Tucker hasn’t got some time at first base with Yuli out.

Uh oh, is JV going to choke and lose his lead for the CY? Not a good start so far.
