Another factoid.... He's leading the league with 164K's as of now. 44 HR's and batting .257. Sounds like a reincarnation of Dave Kingman. |

Everyone hated Carter, but I didn’t mind him. What was surprising was how much more people liked Gattis. They were both defensively useless power hitters.

Everyone hated Carter, but I didn’t mind him. What was surprising was how much more people liked Gattis. They were both defensively useless power hitters. How could you be okay with Carter but you hated Gattis? |

The way I see it, the guy is doing just as well as Altuve right now. He isn't, but he's not having a bad year. His defense is awful. |

Yes, his 130 OPS+ is only 4% worse than Altuve's 134, but that's just offensive production. His defense is so poor it almost cuts his entire value in half.
Again though, he's having a good season. Just not a great season. Altuve isn't having a great season for him either. (He's having a great 2nd half though.)
