Brantley never dives for the ball. Not a great LF. As brittle as his health has been, do you really want him diving?

I probably wouldn't mind a dive here and there from him (maybe they'll give him more days off these last 9 games)

Yankees lose, we win. We are the first to a 100.
Since we own the tie breaker, we effectively have a 2 game lead on the Yankees for home field.

His numbers have been down for a month now. Reddick heats up and Tucker plays in place of Reddick. Go figure.

I’m also a bit surprised that Stubbs hasn’t caught a few games to give Chirinos a break.

Keep him in against Calhoun? Hinch is nuts. I thought so, but, he got away with it........Cole is one hell of a competitor. As bad as I hate to pay that much, but, at Cole's age he might get $40 million a year and we would be wise to give it to him. He is the only pitcher in the game right now who is worth it.

Astros 100-53 Yankees 99-54
We are technically two games up on them for home field advantage because we own the tie-breaker if we finish with the same record. We need to do all we can to secure home field.

So, you're saying we DON'T suck! Yes, that's what he is saying. Well, except for Altuve, Correa, Devo, Smith, Miley, Harris, Maldonado, Osuna...

Yes, that's what he is saying. Well, except for Altuve, Correa, Devo, Smith, Miley, Harris, Maldonado, Osuna... 1. Altuve is a dumbass but doesn't suck 2. Correa is a candy ass but doesn't suck. 3. Devo SUCKS......PERIOD 4. Smith scares the hell out of me. 5. Miley sucked for a couple of starts and appears to be coming out of it. 6. Harris is a guy I want to trust but have seen him burn us too many times. 7. Maldonado is throwing worse and still lets some pitches get by him when he shouldn't.......I'd still rather have him than Stassi who did suck. 8. Osuna does the job most of the time but scares the hell out of me doing it like he did tonight. You left out Diaz who is beginning to suck. I'd rather see Toro in the lineup if Candy Ass still needs rest. Giving a day off to a guy who hasn't played in over a month and needs to get his timing back doesn't make sense.

This team winning when they're not really hitting is the best part. They WILL hit, and it's lining up to look like it will be when need it in the postseason. *fingers crossed*
Great game by the pitchers. Timely HRs by Yuli and Altuve.
What's up with Maldonado's throwing though? He's only 10% of caught stealing since joining us, and only 26% for the season (the lowest of his career). He's been productive with the bat so it's hard to complain too much, especially with what Stassi was giving us, but it would be nice to see him get control of the throwing. Or at least not make errors on the throws...
That run yesterday ended up "earned" for Cole, but it likely wouldn't have scored.

I am for re-signing Chirinos to a 2 year/$10M deal, if he would take it. Stubbs should be the back-up catcher. That would be the biggest OS other contract, if the Astros could somehow pull off re-signing Cole. Re-signing Cole would probably prohibit doing anything with Springer until after next season. If Astros don't re-sign Cole, then Luhnow can go after Wheeler and go ahead extend Springer. *Still need to trade Reddick and Correa.

I would do a 1-year contract for $6-8 million with an option year if he meets certain marks.
