Interesting fact that both sets of father-son(s) have a Houston origination connection. Daryle Ward.... Now that's a name I haven't heard in awhile. Didn't notice when he retired.

Cavan isn't getting as much attention as Bichette and Vlad, but he's done some really impressive stuff so far for a rookie that wasn't a particularly special prospect. His AVG is real low, but he's still been productive. In 90 games:
14 HR 59 Runs 43 RBI 13/13 SB 110 OPS+ *No GIDPs*
For a full season that projects to:
25 HR 76 RBI 106 Runs 23 SB
The baserunning is amazing, and he has done all of this while playing at least average defense at three different positions. I don't know if he'll ever be a superstar, but the guy has the makings of a very good all-around player with tons of versatility.

Didn't Craig Biggio go one season without a GIDP, breaking the record with zero and most AB's?

A 110 OPS+ is exactly 10% better than average. And zero GIDPs and a 100% SB success rate are the best in the league, I can safely say.

He's safely overrated.

So Biggio Jr. ended up with the following numbers in his rookie season:
16 HR 48 RBI 66 Runs 14/14 SB .234/.364/.429 .793 OPS (113 OPS+) 2.8 WAR *No GIDPs
They moved him around the field and in the lineup, but it looks like he is a born 2-hole hitter with his on-base skills, lack of GIDPs, and a .923 OPS when hitting 2nd. The average is low but he gets on base very well, and so far he is a flawless baserunner with solid power. He was the Blue Jays' best position player this year, which isn't a saying a lot, but he even out-played Vlad Jr.

For sure it does when it comes to the HRs, but he also had a fair amount of doubles and triples. Even if they fix the balls, he looks like a potential 40+ Double 15+ HR guy next year, which Craig didn't do until his 6th season.

I think he will improve each year and work on his game and with the name Biggio the Blue Jays will allow him time to develope. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jr hitting close to .300 with 25 HRs within 2 years, but most likely .275 with 20 bombs and 70 RBIs.
