We'll never be more popular than the Yankees even if we're this good for 10 years. It's a little unrealistic to expect otherwise The question is why does it matter? Astros fans need to stop acting like the world needs to talk about our team as much as the Yankees. As long as we win championships, I couldn’t care any less.

It's annoying when your team isn't in primetime when you've made the playoffs. Especially when you're up against teams you've hated (for lack of a better term) since you were a kid
Unfortunately that shit is based on which game the network expects to draw more viewers. It's always been that way

I disagree with the idea/belief that we're not treated respectfully. I think it gets blown out of proportion. It's going to be market based. If we continue to build a bigger market we'll get a bigger share of respect/coverage. As for dissing, I was only dissing one poster and he knows why. Although it wasn't really a "dis". More like a humorous slight. You need to get exposure so others can know that you deserve respect. I doubt there will be others across the country who will take off work to watch a day game. To me, it's somewhat analogous to getting the DJ to play your record. If the audience doesn't like it, fine. But they'll never know until they've gotten a chance to hear it. Okay, I'm getting the idea that you and blcoach8 like to needle each other. I'll back off and let you two go at it -- even though you're complete wrong on this one. Needling is a polite way to put it. It's more like I'm Hopper from Stranger Things and he's a demogorgon.

I look at the Astros like I do the Golden State Warriors. Nobody cared about GS until the last few years when they've been so good. Now they get plenty of attention. If the Astros can win another championship/couple more pennants, they'll get plenty of exposure. But, just like GS will never be the Lakers, we'll never be the Yankees or Boston.

I have an old friend who grew up in New York and loved (s), everything about the place. He always talks about the Giants in a football discussion and the Yankees when baseball is mentioned. He used to talk about the Knicks but now loves the Spurs. It used to be that he would never mention the Astros but now I gave him an Astros cap and he actually put it on. He said that they are his 2nd favorite team. Our families are both going to Ruth Chris steak house down in SA between the championship series and the World Series. The guy who pays is the guy whose team is not in the World Series or had the worst record in the playoffs. Dude has a big family so the Astros better win. Point is if you win you get attention but in the end it is the team with the biggest audience that gets prime time. It is no slight, it is just good business.

My mom's closest friends are Yankee fans even though they've lived in Houston for years and reside in the same neighborhood as Verlander and Watt. Fans of that team are everywhere it seems

If the Astros won the next 26 WS in a row, we might be more hated than the Yankees.
