So JV and Cole obviously had amazing years and are far and away the best pitchers in the AL (if not all of baseball) in 2019. But, Greinke would likely be a top-3 CY finisher in the NL if he hadn't been traded. He's been a little up and down since coming to us and certainly wasn't as dominating as JV was down the stretch in 2017, but what a strong finish.
As an Astro: 8-1 3.02 ERA (154 ERA+) 1.069 WHIP 62 IP
For the year: 18-5 2.93 ERA (154 ERA+) .982 WHIP 208 IP
We'll see what he can do in the postseason this year. He hasn't exactly been a badass in his postseason career, but he does sit at an okay 4.03 ERA through 11 starts. Keuchel pitched to a 3.60 ERA in the postseason last year so let's see if he can best that.

There've been pitchers we've traded for at the deadline who've done worse. Scott Kazmir comes to mind

F him, man. He can't even complete the 9th inning without giving up a hit.

I don't think it's a coincidence. It has to be connected to Strom and the philosophy the Astros have regarding pitching.

He's basically done what he was already doing the last couple years. We'll see if there is improvement next year.

We saw a glimpse of it in his first start.

I keep wondering if Toronto knew he was having arm issues and that's how we were able to get three players for one crappy OF prospect.

Unless Sanchez is severely damaged, i think we can get some use out of him. Biagini has a ways to go, and, I don't know a thing about the prospect they sent us. The fact that we got three breathing humans for Fisher makes it a good deal. I still have to pinch myself when I think of the Dodgers giving us Yordan for Fields, and, this year they were still nice enough to take White off our hands.

They already have a slightly slimmer and much better player in Muncy.
