It’s hard for me to get excited about Harden after Games 6 and 7 in the WCF last year. That was the time for him to step up, shut up the haters, and carry the team to the Finals and he fell short. This year’s team is not as good so it’s all kind of dull. It’s not like with the Astros where even when they were bad, you had Altuve chasing batting titles, Keuchel winning the Cy Young, the emergence of young stars like Springer, Correa, and Bregman. You had Rasmus selling his soul to the Devil for 2015. In basketball, you throw up a ball. If it goes in, you proclaim god status. If it doesn’t, you don’t want to talk to the media. I miss the way it used to be: PG sets up shots, SG makes shots, F is the intermediary between the others and C, and the C was a multidimensional offensive player who created low post shots. Now, it’s four guys who can’t wait to chuck up some 3’s and a C who is some big dummy who blocks, rebounds, and catches dunk passes. I don't disagree with any of that. Although I would still enjoy watching another Finals with the Rockets in it. It's fun for the city. I agree but I just don’t buy into the team so much. I want to, but it’s all too iffy. |

So Harden is going to end the season as the only player in the last 50 years not named Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant to average over 35 points per game for the season.

It's near impossible to win an NBA Championship if you don't have one of the 5 best players in the league on your team. It's also incredibly frustrating if you do, but don't get the title before he retires As much as I dislike Dallas, I was happy for Nowitzski getting that ring. I'm sure it was a relief for him |
