This new trailer is AMAZING. I cannot wait, and pray daily that they haven't muffed this up like that SJW travesty, Discovery.

Kurtzman and Roddenberry, Jr. are involved wth both Discovery and Picard, so I am guessing we can expect the same. |

Kurtzman was removed as showrunner on this one, and a lot of the writers were removed as well. Hopefully, it'll live up to the trailer. I am worried by the fact that Sir Pat has himself commented on how the fans will be "shocked" by the show, and that they can now address issues that they couldn't address on TNG. That screams "Gay Picard in an interracial relationship with a transvestite Romulan" to me. |

TOS through VGR were all spectacular (though with an occasional turd). Enterprise was killed by a poor casting decision in hiring Quantum Leap guy to be the captain...he's a shit actor. Even with that, the show was becoming quite good in seasons 3 and 4. I waited years for a new trek, and was excited when I found out about Discovery. Then they made it, and it was a complete piece of SJW shit, an ass stain on the franchise whose only point was to pander to the blacks and the gays. A f***ing mushroom drive a la Dune and re-imagined Klingons combined with a whispering, affirmative-action Mary Sue main character...unreal. Horrible. Please don't make Picard into a transvestite! |

The ONLY good thing to come out of STD was Anson Mount as Capt. Christopher Pike. I'm hoping they give him his own series.
They eventually tore out the stupid spore drive and sent the ship 930 years into the future in order to try to fix the trek timeline after they muffed it up royally. They were between Pike and Kirk, timewise, but the tech these morons wrote into the show were FAR advanced beyond what was canonically appropriate for the timeline. So, twweeeeeeeep...send them into the FU-CHUR!!!1

Then things seemed to started getting mangled, (Temporal Cold War, Borg, etc.) So either i am getting too old to keep up with this shit, or the writers have mangled the hell out of it beyond repair. |

Episode 1 of ST:P is out on CBS All Access, and it was fantastic (much to my surprise). Hoping the quality writing and production hangs in there for the rest of the episodes.
The only thing that is kind of a bummer to me is that Picard (Stewart) is SO DAMNED old. He's really frail and has lost his commanding presence.
Great show so far, though. I signed up for the 7 day trial of CBS AA through Amazon Prime...now I guess I'll keep it for at least 10 weeks to watch the rest of the episodes. It's $6/mo with commercials, $10/mo without
