The trade was fine. Did we give up anybody that has gone on to do anything impressive? i think only Velasquez is even still playing and he's been a #5 starter at best. At least Giles gave us one good year, and then we turned around and traded him for another closer who, overall, has been pretty good (but he's not some elite closer that we couldn't replace or that is without fault outside of being a wife-beater). For all the talk of Strom being the Second Coming of the Lord, he track record for getting the best out of his closers has been mediocre. Also didn't realize that even before today, Greinke lifetime post season was 3-4, with an >4 era. Did we get a regular season wonder? |
