73-52
One good game against one of these bad teams and I think they'll break out of this funk.
On a side note, I'm surprised I'm the one feeling positive about things. They aren't getting lucky that the A's are struggling also; the A's were playing over their heads all season. It was going to catch up to them. I also don't think it's lack of effort on the part of the players, or poor decisions by Dusty (even though I've always found him to be an average manager at best). Early in the year I think they got cocky with some of the bad teams, and now it's a mental hurdle that they're struggling with while also in that hard time of the season when people are tired and sore. I really think they'll be absolutely fine.
And remember, we haven't had our team close to full health for a very long time, and yet, despite the issues, we're tied for the 2nd best record in the AL. All teams hit a wall now and then, and we're not the only good team to be struggling. Boston, ChiSox, and Oakland have all hit a wall as well.
Some positives:
1. The starting pitching has gotten back on track and Urquidy should be back soon as well. 2. Bregman and Tucker will be back soon and we'll be at full strength for the first time in forever. 3. Altuve, Correa, and Gurriel have started heating up again. 4. Meyers, Taylor, and Chas are all stepping up and are fun to watch while the veterans are pressing.

Tucker has been out over a week due to some secret ailment or some other bullshit. The last time they put him into this health and safety protocol BS, the problem was not COVID related. If this is virus-related, why was he in uniform and in the dugout around the team this past weekend? Makes no sense....activate Tucker, get him on the field, and get Brantley off that ankle. I have lost count of the number of times we have been told Bregman would "be back soon" only for them to decide he "needs more rehab".

With Diaz doing so well, we're in a good position for them to not rush Bregman back. If they can get him healthy again, he's arguably the biggest offensive force in our lineup. I'm glad they aren't pushing him.

I'm glad they aren't pushing him. I am all for them giving Bregman all the time he needs......There is no need to rush him back when Diaz is giving us more offense than we were getting from him. Tucker is the guy we need. For some reason, they seem to want to keep the truth from us as to why he was put in health and safety protocols. I am no authority on COVID, but, I thought to be placed in protocols you were supposed to have some symptoms of the virus.

When Tucker and Bregman return, Mike needs some days off. Get ready, Díaz. You can tell from the last couple of games that Michael badly needs a rest. I agree with not rushing guys back too soon, but, I think this organization is cautious to the point of coddling these guys and keeping them out too long.

Brantley could use the rest, but I think we're maybe blaming his health too much. Frankly, I think this is just his AVG/OPS leveling out. He's only hit over .320 once in his entire career. His AVG and OPS+ are both approaching back to where he has mostly been in his previous 6 seasons.

The more he gets tired and struggles, the more he hits into those 4-3 putouts.

I would like to see Uncle Mike placed on the 10-day IL to give him some rest and Jake Meyers moved into the 2 hole while Mike is out. Meyers batted in the 2 hole for Sugar Land in most of the games he played there this season and thrived. Batted .385 with a 1.131 OPS hitting second.

I don't think coach wants anyone that has been on the disabled list to bat high in the order upon their return...

I hope I don’t jinx him by saying this, but for a first baseman Taylor Jones plays a pretty good LF.

Mike definitely needs time off. Giving it to him now could pay benefits down the road.

I don't think coach wants anyone that has been on the disabled list to bat high in the order upon their return... I agree. Correa for his faults is batting the best over the last 2 weeks (.870+ OPS). The only other I'd want batting third right now is Díaz. Everyone else is struggling, and we can hardly expect guys just coming off the IL not to scuffle a bit before finding a rhythm

I don't think coach wants anyone that has been on the disabled list to bat high in the order upon their return... I didn't think Bregman belonged in the three spot before he went on the IL. Yuli would be better. Let Bregman go into the 6th spot where there should not be as much pressure on him when he first comes back. I like olpapa's idea of putting Mike on the 10 day IL and putting Meyers in the two hole. Tucker batting second should also be OK after he has been back awhile.

I sure don't want Bregman in the two hole, and, I'd prefer him not to hit third. I'd put him 6th. What did he do to deserve going back, to the three spot? I don't want Tucker in the two hole until he has been back awhile because he struggled for awhile the last time he was out.
