Ok time to put our big boy pants on and show everyone why we got here. The Nationals are no joke, the last 100 games of the year they were just 1 game behind us record wise so we ain't playing chumps like we were with the Yankees. These boys are real. Time for us to get real and stop thinking these guys are going to just kiss the ring. Well said. I said before the series began that I thought this was going to be a better matchup than most in the media think. Time for JV to pick the team up in game 2. Others have picked him up twice this postseason. It’s his turn now. Hopefully he will pitch a complete game shutout. I don’t look for our offense to do nearly as much against Strausburg as they did against Scherzer. Strausburg won’t be helping us out by walking a lot of batters. Gonna have to swing the bat. Time for Bregman to focus his thoughts on playing baseball rather than on what new childish pose he can make for the cameras. Tonight is a must-win for the Astros. If we go to DC down 0-2, I don’t think the series will return to Houston.

In a surprising move... Cole, after feeling so bad about his game #1 performance, re-signs with the Astros for $100 million less than expected. LOL!

Well friends, I'm super disappointed after this game 1 loss. We squandered so many opportunities to score runs. Eventually this terrible hitting with RISP has to swing in our favor. A few positive takeaways from this game: - We lost game 1 of the ALCS & game 1 of the WS in 2017. We typically play better when we are in a hole. - Springer and Alvarez both seem to be hitting the ball better. I know Alvarez really hurt is in that bases loaded situation but he was on base 3 times. - Cole was bound to have a down game with the streak he was on. Glad to get it out of the way early in the series so he can be dominant his next start. - The bullpen of Harris and Smith continues to look fantastic. JV is going to put this team on his back and help us win game 2. I don't think our bats will quite break out yet, but we score enough to win game 2. Astros win 5-1. Bregman and Correa showed up last night in Pampers. I'm with olpapa....I don't want to see anymore camera poses from Bregman while he tanks and doesn't do his job.

If our clean up hitter goes silent, say <.150, then we are sunk.
