There has to be a trade for a SP. We are definitely no gotten any attention from FAs at the moment. Something has to be brewing. Also i would not packagr Osuna, Correa and Reddick in a trade. You hate it but the truth is Yuli need to be moved. Reddick aswell and Correa. There are good trades to be made. Correa to the Braves makes to.much since if they dont get Donaldson or Rendon. You could essentially get sime good SPs. You keep saying that Yuli needs to be traded but you don't mention who will replace him and give us the run production we are getting from him. Alvarez could possibly be a first baseman, but, we don't know if they are even considering that. If Correa is traded, I can see Yuli moving to third base with Bregman becoming the regular SS. It depends on ur trade. It depends on who you get? If some how you trade Yuli to the Jays and aquire Groshans. This makes it a future move. But this would be the move to make. This is why you look at this. Carlos Correa and Framber to the Braves for Austin Riley,Kasey Kalich, Patrick Weigal and Tucker Davidson. Come on we get the help we need those guys are pretty close to being ready if not ready to push. Riley could play 3rd base with Bregman at SS. Thats future moves u try and make and it doesnt really kill the Braves farm. Those guys would be blocked for alittle while. With reddick its a hard move

The way Nathan tries to get rid of Yuli makes me think he's one of them Mexican-hating Mexicans. Like he's a Sureño and Yuli is a Norteño. Yuli just had a career year and voodoo still wants to get rid of him. I think you are right, Bortaz.

Thanks, VooTwo. Watching you flail away trying to defend the indefensible is giving me the giggles even more than watching your boy Jork at the plate. Straw? Seriously? While I see him as being a very useful player, he's not an answer for Brantley's exit. Ironically it was just a few weeks ago when you insisted he hasn't even proven himself to be a suitable replacement for wimpy-ass Jork. Alvarez? Nice bait and switch. Yordan is already an integral part of the lineup being used primarily as a DH. Moving him to the OF full-time doesn't solve anything other than to degrade the defense and leave a spot to be filled for a DH. That's a mighty swing you took but it connected with nothing but air. Strike one, try again. lol Nice try, asshole.........no go. Where did I say that Straw was an "answer to Brantley's exit"? First, we don't know that Brantley won't re-sign. Second, we don 't know if Straw will be a starter or a reserve. Alvarez could very well be the starter in left field in the future or at first base. Watching you attempt to show that t=you have any idea what is going to happen is more than laughable. I don't think they plan for Alvarez to simply DH....at least, he talks like he has been told they plan to use him in the OF. We don't know how Straw will develop as a hitter. Right now, he has shown to be no better than Jake and Jake has more than proven himself as a premier defensive outfielder. Someone with your vast knowledge would be useful building that joke of a team in Detroit. Ah, now there's the Corch we all know and love (to laugh at). I knew I pushed your buttons and there's the proof. Starting out with 'asshole' and closing with what you imagined would be injurious by referencing the Tigers. Too bad I've already accepted the Tigers rebuild will be a long process. You better sharpen your Hatchet, that one had all the cutting power of a wet noodle. lol You're right, you didn't specifically say Straw was an answer to Brantley's exit. You simply don't have an answer at all. Brantley might sign? Maybe you extend one or the other of Springer/Brantley. Or maybe you get neither. Both? Keep dreaming. The projected payroll for the Astros in 2020 is already $217M and that's after Sanchez was non-tendered. Yes, you'll see some savings when duds like Reddick and Marisnick are off the books but much of that will be eaten up by arb players getting raises in 2021. And there will be other holes to fill. A few of them in the rotation and bullpen this winter, but that's likely to be with players from the bargain bin on the FA market. Alvarez playing first? Sure that could happen. Or he could be used primarily in the outfield. Or he could be used most of the time at DH. But no matter how many positions you mention he could possibly play, he can only play one position at time and you only get his bat once in the batting order. That's a fact you can't escape. You can only choose ignore it and bury your head in the sand.

With reddick its a hard move It's pretty obvious if Yuli is traded Brantley and Tucker would start at LF/1B. More takers there'd be for Yuli than Reddick one would think if they want Tucker to start Not saying I agree, but it makes sense if Luhnow's exploring that

If we’re thinking of the here and now, Yuli is perfectly fine. If we’re thinking of the future, that’s a different question. I’d be inclined to think that if he mattered so much to their future plans, they’d have done more than give him a raise for this season.

Ken Rosenthal just tweeted that the Mets are close to acquiring Marisnick. The Mets are giving the Astros two prospects. Sounds like a good deal for both teams. Beltran knows a quality outfielder when he sees one. Marisnick runs well and grades out as a terrific outfield defender; over the past two years he’s registered 17 Defensive Runs Saved, a +7.5 Ultimate Zone Rating and 21 Outs Above Average despite only logging 1327 innings in the outfield. For a Mets club that has long struggled on the defensive side of the game, Marisnick’s glove will be a welcome addition even if it comes at the cost of some offense. The above facts prove that the Mets are getting a gold glove caliber outfielder. Hopefully, he can hit better for them. Carlos Beltran knows Jake and probably has an idea as to how to improve his hitting.

Jake will be nothing more than a platoon partner for Nimmo. Time will tell. No doubt Beltran wanted him or he would not be going there, Maybe Carlos has some ideas on how to get more production from him. As far as quality goes, Straw has yet to prove he is as good or better than Jake. I think he will, but, he hasn't yet,
