I’m concerned about Cole pitching tonight. He seemed hittable in game 1. Haven’t seen that in a long time. Hope he reverses that tonight.

After Cole saw success with Greinke and Urquidy, he sees the flaws of the Nats and can better exploit that today.

I am not at all concerned........I think he does what we expected in game one. I agree. Game #1 was an anomaly. First game of the World Series facing a team they haven't played all year.
After Cole saw success with Greinke and Urquidy, he sees the flaws of the Nats and can better exploit that today.
In game 1, he couldn't find his release point for the high strike. He can get away with a centercut FB only if they are protecting against the high heat. Without it, he struggled. He battled, but it wasn't the same. |

So, how confident do you guys feel about Scherzer starting game #7 (if needed)? Do you guys think he would be able to play? Only a few innnigs? Or it will be Sanchez? I can't imagine him being effective with his back spasming. He's gutty enough to try, but I suspect he would have trouble throwing strikes. The back isn't something that you can out tough. |

When the back goes out, the first thing that happens is it's prone to reinjury after you initially think you are getting better. I think he's out until spring.
