I’ll admit that I questioned pinch hitting with McCann.

any pitcher that throws Marisnick a fastball should get a butt whupping. He can not hit a curve or slider for nothing.

Astros are 19-10. Two game lead in the AL West.

Nice momentum going into the Yankee series. I am going to be stuck watching YES for the next four.

This feels like the 1st series we've won against a team that'd been playing well

This was just a great game. Cole is looking like as good a pickup as Verlander.

So far, signing Smith has proven to be wasted money and a wasted roster spot.

We can't find someone better than Smith to put in the pen? Ugh I second that. Surely we have somebody at AAA better than Smith

Cole leading all of baseball in strikeouts. Third in innings pitched. Even allowing 3 earned runs today he has an era below 2. I call that pretty fair stuff right there.

Skaggs in his start tonight against the Yanks is not getting the breaking ball over with the consistency he did against the Stros last week. Already in the middle 80's in pitches in the fifth. Looks like another BP game for the Angels. Also the Yanks will be coming in hot for the series.

Who do want to lose the Yankees or Angels?

Man, to be saddled with Pujols or Miguel Cabrera's contract right now...what an albatross.

It just feels weird rooting for the Yankees. Yes, very much so. My reasoning was to gain another game on the Angels, and then hopefully we can handle the Yanks in this 4 game series starting today.

This series is big for the Astros. Time for them to start showing they can handle the playoff caliber competition this year.
