Latest update: 1.5 million cases world-wide, 87,500 deaths (5.8% mortality). U.S.: 425,000 cases, 4300 deaths (3.4%). Texas: 9,353 cases, 177 deaths (1.9%). It seems Texas has been less affected so far, but I would expect both the numbers and death rate to rise.

With the high rate of illegal crossings from Mexico, by aliens who often do not seek out care out of fear of arrest, our numbers in the region and the state are likely much higher than reported.

You have to have an appointment, but cases went from 2 to 31 in two or three days. Still no deaths.

The numbers are set to explode in Texas. With any communicable disease the death numbers are always inflated because so many are infected but have few or no symptoms and are kept out of the equation. Hence, the "real numbers" will always remain unknown. This is offset partially by the number of people whose deaths are attribued to a different cause when they actually die because of the disease, but overall the numbers are skewed to look worse than they actually are.

I was just reading an article saying that some are concerned about the numbers because the government has made the decision to report deaths of any cause, in the presence of COVID symptoms or diagnosis, as a COVID death...regardless of the reason for death.

Yes, I read the same. It's almost as if they're artificially propping up the numbers for some agenda or another. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but if, say, a foreign power *cough (China) cough* wanted to crash the U.S. economy then making our national debt increase while simultaneously putting thousands out of work would be a good place to start. Convenient, since they own the majority of our debt. I'd advise everyone to hold onto cash for now.

I'm waiting on the anti-body test to be widely distributed. I suspect COVID-19 has been here since early fall without anyone knowing. I think that's the reason the standard flu vaccine has been ineffective, and "allergies" have been so severe.

We went on our Hawaiian cruise in December and were in the hot tub with some people from China. I’m thinking it was more than a head cold.

The key difference in the cold/flu/allergy season this year has been persistence. Every time you think you're on the road to improvement, it kicks your butt again. My case came after the stent in October so I thought that might have something to do with it. But COVID wouldn't surprise me.

My boss is making me self quarantine. I will be off until April 27th. I don't know what in the hell I am going to do, I am used to working 6 days a week. My kids are already getting on my damn nerves.

For those who think I'm nuts, here is some evidence. I have my Christmas Tree lit up in my living room and in the picture window for the neighbors.

Latest numbers: world-wide 1,870,000 cases, 116k deaths (6.2%). USA 563k cases, 22,150 deaths (3.9%). Texas 13,500 cases, 275 deaths (2%). I expect the US to have around a 4-4.5% mortality rate from Covid19, but that's just a guess.
