This team will only be as effective as the top 1-4 guys. If they rock, we rock.

I wouldn’t mind seeing McHugh come in and relieve Dallas when he is done. As Pa says, the Yankees have trouble hitting the curveball. We saw in the 9th last night the pitches they destroy. McHugh has the best curveball of any pitcher in our bullpen by far.

Last year, the bottom of our order was the best in baseball at getting on base to provide RBI opportunities for the top of the order........not so this year, Most teams with dead spots in the order don't win titles.

A tough thing for a pitcher that was a starter for the majority of his career. A lot of situations last night JV had them guessing breaking pitch and was blowing FB by them, he mixed it up good and I am still smarting on the Stros blowing a good pitching performance by him.

True, NL teams have been winning titles for years with the pitcher hitting ninth.

I think we forget how pesky Nori Aoki was at the bottom of the order. He was an above average contact hitter, which was why Luhnow signed him. He was crucial to the early season success the Astros had.

Severino has excellent numbers so far in 2018. In his last 3 starts he’s pitched 20 innings, given up 9 hits and 4 walks. Keuchel better be on his game or it could be another L.

I checked Rotoworld to see if Giles had gone on the 10 day DL from a self inflicted facial contusion, but no, didn’t happen.

Glad the Astros didn’t sign Darvish. He’s 0-3 w/an ERA of 6.00.

Correa needs to stop taking first pitch fastballs right down the gut and getting himself behind in the count. Opposing teams have figured out that he is not going to swing at the first pitch regardless, so they just hum it down the middle.

Not sure where in his career he decided to always take the first pitch, but it can be rather annoying at times. I'm sure if he started swinging pitchers would adjust and not throw him first pitch strikes. Regardless it's perturbing.

Yes, the offense took the Month of April off basically no real explosion or consistent scoring in games in a row. None of that come from behind explosion like we saw last year. Seems like there is no real fire urging them on to be the WS winner this year.

As somebody pointed out already, NL teams win with pitchers hitting 9th and normally a weak hitter hitting 8th. It's certainly helpful if they would hit, but your big guns need to step up. And so far this year it hasn't been great.
