Guess we need to look at what 2022 MLB teams that are in need of a SS and 3B, plus have the financial resources, cap space and willingness, to spend at least 20 million a year on a player. They're the Astros competition this next off-season, in signing one of the top FA SS or 3B. I am hoping supply outweighs demand + ability to purchase.

If Correa struggles but is healthy this year, does he get better or worse offers next offseason?

I forgot about the QO. Yeah, offer that and draft as well as possible. It’ll be the first year the Astros won’t be penalized. Lindor ridiculous contract probably made Carlos feel like 5/125M was not enough....Maybe there will be another Mets type team that will severely overpay/ overcommit, and that's what Carlos is banking on....I am glad Astros/Click were not that team... I think Correa is in for a shock when what he gets doesn't come close to meeting what he wants. Lindor signing that big contract made Carlos think our offer to him was an insult. If he balked at $25 million a year, he is an idiot and will end up paying for it.

I wonder if they discussed any short term deals. Like 2-year with a high AAV that would pay him but let him come back as a FA in a couple years still young with a chance to get a huge deal.

If Carlos can play 150 games, but produces just averagely, then 25 million a year will definitely be the high number.... And probably less, like light lower than 20 million a year. If Carlos has a great year offensively, but is on the DL for a decent amount of games, as he is almost each year, 5 years probably is the most he will get in length of contract.

After watching Torres after two games in the field, the Yankees could be a good trade partner. They have the prospects, but the question would be their salary cap or they just want a rental. But it is a team desperate for a ring.

Trade prediction - even though Astros really have nothing to offer. Astros trade for Craig Kimbrel before deadline.
Leave it to Nathan/VD to come up with trade scenario.
Just like Mr. Miyagi said about crane: when done correctly, there is no defense.

With the signing of LeMahieu threw a wrench in their plans. They don't have enough positions for all of those sticks.

Well, the Astros brought Castro back, and he just hit a HR for the team! (this may be the last time this year where I am touting Jason Castro) What current MLB player that once played for the Astros, excluding Springer, Cole, Morton and Hader, do you wish the Astros could get back after this season?

I am not surprised you are not tired of hearing about Morton and Hader given up on. Houston over the years have made a lot of bad trades, but the one guy they traded away Teoscar Hernandez to the Blue Jays is turning into a beast.
