Well, Gattis didn't play today. I wonder if he's played his last game as an Astro?

They say Verlander will pitch on Friday instead of Morton. Wonder why.

So going back to last year, with today's save, Giles has converted 39 of 45 Save situations. 5/5 this year. The guy is absolutely fine in normal Save situations. He's not good in tie situations or extra innings. Those 6 blown saves (if they wind up as losses) would keep you out of the playoffs in a tight division.

To be fair, I think all our relievers are bad in tie-situations or extra-innings. Especially at MMP

Big home runs from two guys from which you don't expect them........Stassi and Fisher. Fisher's was a BOMB. Harris and Giles both come in and allow nothing. Yuli got that clutch double to give us two runs we needed and then made a bonehead move by trying to steal third. BAD decision. Cole was not dominating but got the job done. Now, let's hope we don't go back home and stop hitting. We have a history of coming off a road trip and doing nothing the first game of a homestand.
We are sending Verlander against Cole Hamels on Friday. They flipped Justin and Morton to keep Justin on regular rest. I always want to beat the Arlington Rangers....especially Hamels since he thought he was too good to accept a trade to Houston.

He's not good in tie situations or extra innings. Or playoffs. Nobody in the bullpen did well in the postseason. They were burnt out carrying the rotation when Keuchel, McCullers, McHugh, and Morton we're all hurt and we we're relying on Fiers and Peacock.

So would all the games we couldn't score more than one run. Team effort on wind and losses.

I get it. My bad. Giles and Harris have been bad forever and have no value. All relievers should be perfect all the time.
In any case, good team wins!

It was a pleasant surprise to see that the Astros came back.
BTW, I really did have other things to do Froggie. Prepared the Wednesday night meal which is served at 5 before Bible Study at 6 and Choir practice at 7.
I didn't quit just because we fell behind.

The face punching was weird... It makes him unlikeable, and then when he blows up a game and rewards us with a loss...well, that’s the fast train to Gomezville

Yes we would have crucified him if he had blown a 3 run lead in his one inning pitched..., and he would have deserved it. It doesn’t matter who the pitcher is. It is the idea that a guy should be rewarded if he can pitch one inning without giving up 3 runs. That is ridiculous. The rule establishing the requirements a pitcher must meet to be credited with a save has been changed from what it was years ago. It is so easy to “earn” a save now that the stat is meaningless. I mean, really. Hold a 3 run lead for one inning and you “saved” the game. What a joke.
