So after trading three prospects for him and paying $10 million for last year and this year, the Nationals have managed to only get 140 plate appearances out of him. Talk about a horrible deal.
What do people say was the worst deal we've made? (If you jump to Ken Giles immediately that means you didn't even try!)

I think if we trade for Abreu we should be prepared to get fleeced

We are already being fleeced when we write Gattis' paycheck

The key for Philly in that trade was VV, except for his 15 K game to in the beginning of last season, he is either injured or getting torched on the hill. There is talk he might be taking a trip to Leigh Valley soon.

Still on pace for an .800+ OPS and 32 HRs though. Hard to pass that up to fill our DH (or 1B hole) and he's still arb controllable for next year too. Getting moved to a contending team would probably wake him up too. CHI seems to ask for the moon though.

What do people say was the worst deal we've made? (If you jump to Ken Giles immediately that means you didn't even try!) The worst deal was the one for Gomez. They billed him as some amazing star like when he was on the Mets. The guy was all sizzle and no steak. Good thing we also got Fiers, who gave us some good starts and a few forgettable ones too. Josh Hader is looking legit, though. The Giles deal was a push. Appel was thankfully jettisoned, and Velasquez’s overrated self was traded away. I wish Luhnow kept Eshelman but oh well.

Yeah Gomez was up there. We got decent mileage out of Fiers though all things considered.

I'd have to say Miguel Tejada. He was good for a little bit and then not. Of course, that's more than I expected/.

You’d have to think his career was PED-assisted. He was great in Oakland and then a superstar in Baltimore. Then, his career started getting less awesome, and he came here. Then, there was that embarrassing scandal where it was revealed he was actually older than he was, which meant that his prime was actually years before.

Gomez and Fiers for Hader Santana, Phillips, and Houser, now that is a bad deal no matter how you look at it.

Looking back .. that Luhnow wanted to trade for Gomez instead of letting Santana hold down RF til Springer came back from his wrist injury that season, really shows how uncertain Luhnow was that George would return at all in 2015 at the time that trade went down. With Springer's fresh injury from last night now in mind, I wonder if Luhnow is thinking about renting Adam Jones for the rest of the season via trade. It's not like there wouldn't be another OF spot he could stick Jones if Springer had a successful return from the DL, with how bad the situation in LF has been

At this rate, they’ll need more than Jones.

Whoever we traded for Moran and Marisnick. You have been on Marisnick from the very beginning and no let up. Though I will say He is starting to Make Everett look like an All-Star with the Bat. At this point even though I like his hustle I don't think he belongs on the Majors with the Astros.

Whoever we traded for Moran and Marisnick. Wasn’t Jared Cosart involved in that deal? I can’t remeber who else we traded. Maybe Kiki Hernandez?

you nailed it it was Cosart. that was a good trade for us and we still have the potential of Martes in reserve
